This Nation Keeps Asking Questions
The lamps of my homeland have faded away,
The fate of the poor keeps changing each day.
The palaces of the rich shine bright in the night,
Yet the poor keep their little lamps burning alight.
Sometimes bread costs too much, sometimes dreams are sold,
People fight their own fate, growing weary and old.
The rulers once promised a brighter tomorrow,
But their promises faded, leaving people in sorrow.
Beneath courthouse walls where the shadows remain,
The poor wait for justice, enduring their pain.
A mother’s prayer, a child’s hunger and tears,
These stories grow stronger through countless years.
Those who gained power through votes from the crowd,
Still hear people’s questions rising clear and loud.

The Voice of a Nation
A nation is more than its land, buildings, and borders; it is the hopes, dreams, and struggles of its people. Pakistan is a beautiful homeland where many people dream of a peaceful life, equal rights, and a brighter future. However, poverty, rising prices, and the struggle for justice continue to challenge ordinary citizens. Through this poetry, Bint-e-Ahmad expresses the pain of the poor and raises questions about promises made by those in power. Her words reflect the silent tears of mothers, the hunger of children, and the hopes of people waiting for change. Despite these hardships, the poem carries a message of hope, unity, and love for the homeland. It reminds us that truth and sincere efforts can inspire a better tomorrow.
