Best Poetry: Heart Touching Lines That Speak to the Soul

Searching for Love in a City of Hate

What life can I live in a city filled with hate?
Where love is never found, why should I let my heart wait?

Where justice cannot be found, why should I complain?
To those who never understand my heart, why explain my pain?

When loneliness becomes my only guest, why should I arrange a crowded place?
When my own people turn to strangers, why should I preserve a bond without grace?

These wounds have turned to scars, inflicted by those I held so dear,
When they themselves become my pain, why seek their healing here?

The tears within my eyes today are my own people’s doing,
When they become the cause of my tears, why embrace them as if nothing’s ruining?

Now my tale of pain has ended; why should I complain anymore?
Zuhra has learned to fight through hardships; why seek hope from others anymore?

The Pain of Betrayal and the Strength to Move On

Life sometimes brings the deepest pain from the very people we love the most. This ghazal reflects the feelings of a wounded heart, loneliness, betrayal, and the pain caused by loved ones. When love turns into hatred, justice becomes difficult to find, and familiar faces begin to feel like strangers, a person may grow tired of explaining their feelings. Zuhra’s words express the emotions of those who hide their sadness behind a smile and silently carry the weight of their experiences.

Written under the pen name Baqalam Bint-e-Ahmad, this ghazal is not only about sorrow and disappointment but also about courage and self-respect. It reminds us that we cannot always depend on others for happiness or expect everyone to understand our pain. Sometimes, life teaches us to become stronger through difficult experiences, trust ourselves, and move forward with dignity. This poetry is dedicated to those who have faced heartbreak, hidden their tears, and still found the strength to continue their journey with hope and courage.
