My Life Story
Come, sit beside me; there is something to share,
Let me tell you my life story, its sorrow and care.
Those childhood days, so innocent and bright,
No worries of the world, no fears in sight.
Sometimes playing with dolls, sometimes getting upset,
Laughing over little things I can never forget.
I never wished for riches, never feared the world,
My little heart was a home where happiness unfurled.
Then slowly, slowly, time began to change,
And childhood slipped away, beyond my reach and range.
Those dolls, those games, those friends I knew,
Where did they vanish? Where did my childhood go?
Then came my youth with dreams in my eyes,
Sometimes laughter bloomed, sometimes came tears and sighs.
I wished to decorate a world of my own,
To chase my dreams and find a path unknown.
Then came the henna, the wedding, the dreams,
A new life awaited, with unfamiliar scenes.
The day I left, my childhood home fell behind,
And memories stayed forever in my heart and mind.
That courtyard, that doorway, those old rooms so dear,
The faces of my loved ones, the voices I could hear.
My mother’s sweet calling, my father’s embrace,
The home that had taught me love, warmth, and grace.
In my new home, new relationships grew,
Some hearts became close, while distances grew too.
Sometimes I carried the home upon my heart,
Sometimes I hid my own feelings, falling apart.
For everyone else, I kept living each day,
Hiding my own emotions along the way.
At night, I shed tears beneath the silent skies,
By morning, I smiled, hiding pain in my eyes.
Now when I look back, I wonder how I’ve grown,
Through countless changing seasons, I’ve found my way alone.
That little girl of childhood still lives inside,
With all her tender dreams she could never hide.
Come, sit beside me; my story isn’t through,
There are countless nights and dreams I must walk through.
Though life has tested me and brought me pain,
I still ask my Lord for sunshine after rain.

A Journey Through Memories and Change
This poetry reflects the beautiful and emotional journey of life, from childhood to youth and married life. Childhood memories, innocent games, beloved friends, and precious moments spent with parents remain forever in the heart. As time passes, dreams change, responsibilities grow, and life takes unexpected turns. Leaving one’s childhood home brings mixed emotions, including love, sadness, and longing for familiar faces. Marriage introduces new relationships, new experiences, and new challenges that require patience and courage. Through these verses, Bint-e Ahmad expresses the feelings of a heart that carries its childhood memories while learning to embrace a new world. It is a touching reminder that no matter how much life changes, the memories of home always remain special.
