The Beloved’s Betrayal, The Lover’s Final Plea

We called your every betrayal a form of loyalty,
And turned your every lie into a prayer silently.

You broke your promises within a moment’s flight,
Yet called you our own God, even when we lost the fight.

Just turn around and look into my silent eyes,
Some dreams still linger where the tears refuse to dry.

I never asked for riches, nor a palace made of gold,
Just one moment in your shelter, a hand for me to hold.

If love was never real, you could have told me so,
Why light the lamps of hope, then leave me in the cold?

I still stand at your doorstep, a beggar for your grace,
Won’t you hear the words you spoke, before you turn your face?

O beloved, do not disgrace the love I gave to you,
I may fall apart, but my loyalty was always true.

This is my final plea; grant me one small kindness today,
Either make me yours forever, or set my love free on its way.

محبوب کی بے وفائی، عاشق کی آخری التجا

تیری ہر بے وفائی کو وفا سمجھتے رہے،
ہم تیرے ہر جھوٹ کو بھی دعا سمجھتے رہے۔

تو نے توڑ ڈالے سبھی وعدے لمحوں میں،
ہم ٹوٹ کر بھی تجھے اپنا خدا سمجھتے رہے۔

کبھی پلٹ کے دیکھو میری خاموش آنکھوں میں،
ابھی کچھ خواب باقی ہیں ان بھیگی نگاہوں میں۔

نہ مانگتے ہیں دولت، نہ کوئی محل تم سے،
بس ایک لمحہ مانگتے ہیں تیری پناہگاہوں میں۔

اگر محبت نہیں تھی تو بتا دیتے ہمیں،
یوں امیدوں کے دیے نہ دکھا دیتے ہمیں۔

ہم آج بھی تیرے در پہ سوالی بن کے کھڑے ہیں،
کبھی اپنے کہے لفظ ہی سنا دیتے ہمیں۔

اے محبوب! میری محبت کو یوں رسوا نہ کر،
میں بکھر تو جاؤں گا، مگر میری وفا کو بے وفا نہ کر۔

اب آخری التجا ہے، بس اتنا سا کرم کر،
یا اپنا بنا لے مجھے، یا میری محبت سے آزاد کر۔

महबूब की बेवफ़ाई, आशिक़ की आख़िरी इल्तिजा

तेरी हर बेवफ़ाई को वफ़ा समझते रहे,
हम तेरे हर झूठ को भी दुआ समझते रहे।

तूने तोड़ दिए सारे वादे कुछ ही पलों में,
हम टूटकर भी तुझे अपना ख़ुदा समझते रहे।

कभी पलटकर देखो मेरी ख़ामोश आँखों में,
अभी कुछ ख़्वाब बाकी हैं इन भीगी निगाहों में।

न माँगते हैं दौलत, न कोई महल तुमसे,
बस एक पल माँगते हैं तेरी पनाहों में।

अगर मोहब्बत नहीं थी तो बता देते हमें,
यूँ उम्मीदों के दीये न दिखा देते हमें।

हम आज भी तेरे दर पर सवालि बनकर खड़े हैं,
कभी अपने कहे लफ़्ज़ ही सुना देते हमें।

ऐ महबूब! मेरी मोहब्बत को यूँ रुसवा न कर,
मैं बिखर तो जाऊँगा, मगर मेरी वफ़ा को बेवफ़ा न कर।

अब आख़िरी इल्तिजा है, बस इतना-सा करम कर,
या अपना बना ले मुझे, या मेरी मोहब्बत से आज़ाद कर।
