محبت کی دعا میں چھپی ایک خاموش چاہت
تجھے مانگا ہے ایسے، جیسے پیاسا مانگے پانی،
تجھے مانگا ہے ایسے، جیسے پیاسا مانگے پانی،
جیسے رات کے دامن میں چھپی ہو صبح کی کہانی۔
تیرا چہرہ میری آنکھوں میں اتر جاتا ہے،
تیرا خیال آئے تو دل میرا سنور جاتا ہے۔
میں نے رب سے تیری قربت کی تمنا کی ہے،
اپنی ہر دعا میں تیری خوشی کی التجا کی ہے۔
کبھی فرصت ملے تو میرے دل میں اتر کر دیکھ،
تیری چاہت نے مجھے کس قدر بدل کر رکھا ہے۔
نہ تجھے پانے کی ضد، نہ تجھے کھونے کا گلہ،
بس تیری آنکھوں میں دیکھوں اپنے لیے تھوڑی سی وفا۔
تیرے قدموں میں نہیں، تیرے دل میں جگہ چاہی ہے،
میں نے ہر دعا میں بس تیری خوشی چاہی ہے۔
کاش! تو سمجھ سکے میری خاموش محبت کو،
میں نے لفظوں سے نہیں، آنسوؤں سے لکھا ہے تجھے۔

I Prayed for You Like a Sacred Wish
I wished for you like a thirsty soul longs for rain,
Like dawn hides quietly behind the curtains of night again.
Your face settles softly within my eyes,
And thoughts of you make my heart bloom like skies.
I prayed to God for the closeness of your heart,
And wished for your happiness in every prayer from the start.
If you ever find a moment, look deep into my soul,
See how your love has changed me and made my heart whole.
I have no stubborn wish to possess you, no complaint if we part,
I only wish to find a little faithfulness within your heart.
I never wished to rule your world or stand above you,
I only wished for a place in your heart, a place where I could love you.
I wish you could understand my silent affection,
I wrote you not with words, but with tears of devotion.

मैंने तुम्हें दुआ की तरह माँगा
मैंने तुम्हें ऐसे माँगा, जैसे प्यासा माँगे पानी,
जैसे रात के आँचल में छिपी हो सुबह की कहानी।
तुम्हारा चेहरा मेरी आँखों में उतर जाता है,
तुम्हारा ख़याल आते ही मेरा दिल सँवर जाता है।
मैंने रब से तुम्हारे क़रीब होने की तमन्ना की है,
अपनी हर दुआ में तुम्हारी ख़ुशी की इल्तिजा की है।
कभी फ़ुर्सत मिले तो मेरे दिल में उतरकर देखना,
तुम्हारे इश्क़ ने मुझे कितना बदला है, ज़रा समझना।
न तुम्हें पाने की ज़िद है, न बिछड़ने का कोई गिला,
बस तुम्हारी आँखों में अपने लिए थोड़ी-सी वफ़ा मिले।
तुम्हारी दुनिया पर हुकूमत करने की चाहत नहीं है,
बस तुम्हारे दिल में एक जगह मिले, इससे ज़्यादा कोई चाहत नहीं है।
काश! तुम समझ सको मेरे ख़ामोश प्यार को,
मैंने लफ़्ज़ों से नहीं, आँसुओं से लिखा है तुम्हें।
